Last week you pushed the ā€œI Believeā€ button on email marketing.  You are ready to send emails to new subscribers, but now you need to solve the obvious problem. How do you grow your email list?

Imagine 2 months from now, you log in to your email marketing system and are greeted by 5x the email addresses you have now. And then it hits you…

You’ve nailed the foundations of list building in your business. You’ve actually done it!

Now that you are a list building rockstar, you’ll probably want to see what else this lead generation magic can do for you.

Imagine leveling up your business so every day is full of…

> Free time to focus on the parts of your biz that you love because automations do the logistics for you

> Confidence that you can generate income in your business quickly if necessary 

No need to pinch yourself. This isn’t a fairy tale. This reality starts with building your list and here is the strategy you need to make it happen.

Once you have your lead magnet, you need to offer it EVERYWHERE…truly everywhere.

Strategy #1 Website Page- Your homepage is one of the most visited pages on your website, so it is important that you take advantage of that important real estate. We recommend placing your lead magnet towards the top of your homepage before you scroll down. 

Strategy #2 Website Popup Box- We know, we know. There’s nothing worse than landing on a website for some leisurely and informative reading, and then BOOM - you’re bit with a pop-up mid scroll. As annoying as they may be, they get your attention, and if your lead magnet solves your readers problem, they are extremely effective.

Strategy #3 Social Media Bios - The first thing people look at when they check out your social media account is your bio. Offer the lead magnet in a short sentence describing the benefit or result. Be sure to include the link to your lead magnet page (aka squeeze page) on every social media account.

Strategy #4 Content - Align the creation of your content with your lead magnet to create an opportunity for your audience to opt-in. Think of this as a ā€˜content upgrade’. Whenever you can include lead magnets that support weekly content creation. 

Strategy #5 Hand Raise Posts - By asking a question related to the problem your lead magnet solves, this opens a loop for you to reach out and send the link to your squeeze page. The best platform for these types of posts are Instagram stories and Facebook groups.

Strategy #6 Live Video on Social - Engaged audiences on your live videos are very likely to soak up every resource that you offer up. Make sure you are speaking on a topic that is related to your lead magnet and that you give a clear call to action. You can drop the link to your squeeze page in the comments section. 

Strategy #7 Organically in Conversation - When you connect with someone over DM or messenger, the goal is to build the relationship. They may not be ready to go straight to a phone consultation. This is a perfect place to offer your lead magnet, capture their email, deliver value and build trust. 

Always ask if they want the lead magnet first. Don’t just send it to them. 

Ex: ā€œWould you like it if I sent you a free copy of my Simple Sunday Meal Prep Guide?ā€ If they say yes, collect their email and put it into the squeeze page yourself.

Strategy #8 Facebook Group Questions - By inserting a strategic question at the entrance of your Facebook group you can create an opportunity to connect over DM with a link to squeeze page. Make sure the questions are related to the benefits or problems your lead magnet solves.

Ex: What are your current health, nutrition and fitness goals?

  1. Weight loss

  2. Learn more about nutrition 

  3. Gain muscle

  4. Get stronger & increase performance

  5. Improve overall health

You now have opened up an opportunity to send a link via DM to a squeeze page for each answer they have selected. 

Strategy #9 Facebook Group Guide - Create a guide in your Facebook group for downloads & free resources. You can insert few posts highlighting your lead magnet with a clear call to action to your squeeze page. 

Strategy #10 Collaborations - Opportunities such as podcast appearances, seminars, collaborative trainings, or co-authored content can be a great way to capture email addresses from a lateral audience.

Now, it’s time for you to take action!

Here’s a little homework for you to get on your way to growing an email list with quality leads.

  1. If you don’t have a lead magnet, add time to your calendar to create one this week. Click here to learn how to build a high converting lead magnet!

  2. Schedule time to share your lead magnet. When will you add it to your homepage? To your popup? Do a live video with the CTA?

  3. Select a date within the next 60 days when you want 100 new people on your email list and do what it takes to make it happen!

Troubleshooting the strategy: What should you do if you are utilizing the above strategies, putting your lead magnet everywhere and NOT getting email addresses?

  1. Check the tech. You need reliable software that collects the email address and delivers the lead magnet.

  2. Your hook or headline describing your lead magnet is off. The name of it doesn’t make anyone curious or want the content.

  3. The actual lead magnet itself isn’t desirable. If it doesn’t solve a painful problem, people won’t want it.

  4. The story is off and people don’t understand the benefit the lead magnet will serve in their life.

  5. It looks unprofessional or visually unappealing.
